Hi. Hope you've been enjoying this week's shows. It's been a big learning process for me to write, record, and produce the show. But it's been really fun! I hope that you'll continue to listen because I'm sure that the shows will get better.

I'm especially thankful to those of you who have given me such valuable feedback. Thank you.

On today's Say it Right I go over the /b/ and /p/ sounds. I know these two are confusing to some people, so there are some practice excercises for you to try. Even if you are good at these, listen anyway because it's good practice listening to English.

If you ever want to practice this or anything else in more detail, please contact me for information about one-on-one classes. You can reach me at carl[at]evolutionenglish[dot]com.

Thank you. Enjoy today's show and see you tomorrow.

Hi! Thanks for coming to my blog/podcast site. On this first show, you'll find out who I am, why I am making this podcast, and what you can expect to hear on each show.

For all my students and friends in Korea, I'm sorry it took me so long to get this ready. Thank you for your patience.

Please excuse the strange site address. I should have a normal site address in one or two days.

Also, I recommend using iTunes to listen and subscribe to my podcast. iTunes makes it very easy to subscribe. Once you click on subscribe on this page, iTunes will automatically download new shows for you. You can get iTunes at http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ for the English version. Or here http://www.apple.co.kr/itunes/download/ for the Korean version.

It's been a busy couple of months, as many of you know. I've been hard at work getting ready to make this podcast. There will be 5 shows each week, Monday to Friday, that will be about 5-10 minutes long.

Each show will be different and will have a different focus. Mondays are expressions and idioms. On Tuesdays will be interesting or fun stories from the media that will also teach you something useful.

On Wednesdays is a chance to learn pronunciation tips and do some practice, too. Thursdays you will learn ways to talk to people in English and hopefully understand what they say to you.

And on Fridays I'll be answering your questions so please email me your questions.

I'm really excited about this podcast and really hope that it helps you improve your English. Let me know what you think of the show and if you have any questions. My email is carl[at]evolutionenglish[dot]com. (This looks strange because I don't want to get automatic spam^^)

Thanks for listening and enjoy the show.

This is the script for the introductory episode. It will make it easier for you to follow the podcast.

If you would like the script for future shows, please email me at carl376[at]yahoo[dot]ca for more information. Good luck and have fun.

Hi and thanks for tuning in to the Evolution English Podcast. My name is Carl Kwan and I’m the host of this show. Let me give you a short introduction to who I am, why I’m doing this show, and what you can expect each time you listen.

Ok, so I’m from beautiful Vancouver, BC, in Canada. I have an MBA and I’ve been teaching English for over 5 years but it’s more like 30 years because I’ve always helped my parents with their English. I still do, in fact. And this is the main reason why I started teaching English.

I really want to see people succeed because they can speak English, even if they only learn a little bit at a time. And that’s why I’m doing this show.

This show’s purpose is to give you the chance to listen and practice English everyday. There are 5 shows each week, Monday to Friday.

On Monday is Expression Connection. You’ll learn a new expression to practice and use and hear a real example of the expression.

On Tuesday is Media Moment, where I’ll find something interesting from TV, the Internet, movies, books, or something to tell you about that will also teach you something useful.

On Wednesday is Say it Right and this is an important show because you’ll learn pronunciation tips and do some practice exercises to help you speak more clearly.

On Thursday is Conversation Corner. On this show I’ll introduce ways to talk to people so that you can feel more comfortable having a conversation in English.

Finally, on Friday is In the Mail. I’ll answer questions from you on this show, so please remember to send in your questions.

So, what I’d like you to do is listen to each show as many times as possible each day and then listen to all of them again on the weekend for review. Each show will be about 7 to 10 minutes long so after 5 shows, you’ll have listened to about 50 minutes.

The nice thing is that you can listen anywhere, anytime…like when you’re going to work or school. You can use this as extra practice or studying if you are studying English now at an institute. Try to study in different ways. Everything helps.

You can also download the script for each show so that you can read while you listen to each show. I charge a small monthly fee for the scripts, but the script for this introduction Podcast is free. So, email me at carl376[at]yahoo[dot]ca for more information and to get the script for this introduction Podcast.

You can even study one-on-one with me because I also teach English using the Internet. Let me know if you’re interested and I can give you some more details about the class. You can email me at carl376[at]yahoo[dot]ca for more information.

But the most important thing is to listen and practice. Studying English is not easy so be patient and learn one day at a time. And I hope that my Podcasts will help you.

Thanks again and hope you enjoy the shows.
